Wun Khao Pansa (Day of entering Vassa, the rains-residence).
In the afternoon, laypeople come to the temple and forming a long line,
present flowers, incense and candles to all bhikkhus and samaneras who
will enter upon the rains-residence in the Wat. All Buddha images, phra
cedi and relics are then revered by Bhikkhus who make a tour of the sacred
area of the Wat for this purpose. In the evening all Bhikkhus meet in the
temple and after being exhorted by the abbot, recite the formula binding
themselves to observe the discipline of Pansa. They beg forgiveness of
each other before returning to their dwellings. During the three months
of Pansa there is an intensification of Buddhist activity, more meditation,
more study, more almsgiving, more listening to Dhamma, etc.

Er hoeft geen monnik of novice te zijn. --------------------------------------------------- Ook als gewone mensen zich gedragen volgens de leer van het Boeddhisme, dan is dat ook religie omdat dat de kern van de religie is.
